Which curd tastes closest to dairy curd??
Hi Ritu! I feel cashew curd with agar agar is the closest in taste to dairy curd. The soy cashew one and rice cashew one are also pretty close.
Have you ever tried the combination of Soy milk powder along with agar agar for a thick curd. Will agar agar work in combination with Soya milk powder?
Hi! No, I haven’t tried soy milk powder with agar agar. I feel soy milk doesn’t need agar agar to set. That said, agar agar is a great setting agent and can be used with any kind of plant-milk. It will work with soy milk powder if you want to try.
Hi, I tried your peanut cashew curd receipe. I stay in Mumbai and it’s raining..I allowed to set it for 12 hrs, still its nit set completely nd not sour too…Plsss help
Hi Shilpa!
There could be a few reasons:
1. The milk wasn’t thick enough.
2. The temp when you added the starter liquid wasn’t right.
3. The starter used wasn’t good enough.
If you’re new at this, it could take a few tries to get it right. Try again using smaller quantities 🙂
You can use this watery curd to make kadhi or mor kozhambu or any curd based gravy dish.
Hope this helps!
Yes,m v new to this..Struggling with curd part as m v fond of….I want smthg v si.ilar to dairy,sour nd tasty….but till now not successful..Will try again..
Ok!
In that case try cashew curd with agar agar. It’s super easy and fail proof.
You can also try making curd with Store bought soy milk as that’s also very easy.
You’ll find these recipes on this blog only 🙂
Let me know if you have any questions!
I tried making soy curd from your recipe,1st day it was wonderful curd but a lil less sour, but used the 1st day starter to make curd again,on 2nd day it came out perfect. Thank you Curdfairy.
Yayy Lokesh, I am so happy you got perfect curd! Enjoy 🙂
